Young Adult Books

Our Young Adult Books are intended for readers in 6th–12th grade. However, we believe that parents know their children best and trust them to use their judgment in deciding what is appropriate for their child. We go not gatekeep or censor. You are welcome to borrow any book for yourself or your child that you feel is a good fit. Some examples of the books in our library are:

  • Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, and Lao Tzu: The Parallel Sayings by Richard Hooper

  • Indigenous Ingenuity: A Celebration of Traditional North American Knowledge by Deidre Havrelock

OWL Library

We are proud to offer an extensive library of respect-based, gender- and identity-sensitive books for all ages. Thanks to the generosity of the TUUC congregation, our OWL library is well-stocked with up-to-date and diverse titles that reflect a wide range of experiences and perspectives.

To ensure age-appropriate access to materials, the library is located in the Director of Religious Education’s office. Books may be checked out by anyone at any time—no need to give your name. Simply help yourself and return them when you’re able. Please note that books include content related to sexuality and other potentially mature themes. A few of the titles we currently have include:
