Sunday Services - Mar 14, 9:30 & 11:15
The Next 50
Rev. Clare Petersberger, Lelane Schmitt, Wendy Werkheiser
Music: TUUC Choir and Joseph Gascho, piano - both services
We are in the midst of celebrating our 50th anniversary. We have remembered and honored the
vision and ministry of our founders and the beloved liberal religious community they birthed. What
will the congregation remember about us at TUUC‟s centennial? What is our vision and ministry as
individuals and as a congregation?
Stewardship Campaign
The annual Stewardship Campaign is now in full swing. Our campaign theme, "The Next 50" celebrates our 50th anniversary while looking ahead to the next 50 years of our church history.
All TUUC members and friends of record have been mailed their pledge forms, along with the Gifts Based Ministry Survey. Please take the time to review and fill out BOTH of these forms. They are vital for the budgeting and planning for programs not only for the 2010-2011 church fiscal year, which begins July 1, but for future years as well.
For the Stewardship Campaign, we have about 30 visiting stewards meeting with 4 families a piece face to face. These 30 members of our church community have contacted the members and friends that they were assigned to collect pledges for the 2010-2011 church fiscal year. Since we have only 30 visiting stewards, we will not be able to meet individually with every member and friend of our church community. If you would like a face to face meeting with one of our visiting stewards and have not received a phone call or e-mail offer to do so, please contact me or Mike Robinson via the information in the directory so that we can arrange for a visit by one of our stewards. In addition to the face to face meetings, we also are planning to have cottage meetings for those members and friends who we cannot meet with individually. These are group meetings that are held in the home of a member of TUUC to discuss our church and arrange for the members who attend to make a financial contribution for the next church year. We hope over the next 2-3 years to be able to meet with every member and friend of TUUC thru the Stewardship Campaign. If you do not wish to have a face to face meeting with one of our stewards, simply fill out the pledge form in and bring it to church or mail it to the church address.
I want to thank everyone who has turned in a pledge form either after a visit from a visiting steward or thru the mail. If you have not yet made your contribution and are a current member or friend, please consider raising your pledge. If you are a new member or friend of TUUC, please pledge as generously as possible. It is thru the generosity of all members and friends with their time and financial contributions that TUUC will continue to be a beacon of freethinking religion for the next 50 years and beyond. -- Jason Braspennickx

Recycling at TUUC!
Be on the look-out for the new blue recycling bins placed throughout TUUC, courtesy of the Green Sanctuary Committee. Now that Baltimore County has adopted single-stream recycling, it is all the more important that we recycle all cans, bottles, paper used in our building. (NOT acceptable in these bins: plastic bags, Styrofoam, paper with food on it, or covered with wax or plastic.) Help TUUC continue to "go green"!Tree of Life Care and Concern Book
In the recent TUUC congregational survey, some of you expressed that you missed the spoken messages at Lighting of Candles. In order for us to stay better connected, we are restarting a Tree of Life Care and Concern book. It is placed on the shelf under the bells at the left entrance to the sanctuary. Here you may share your personal joys and concerns, and these messages will then be acknowledged by Clare during the pastoral meditation/prayer in both worship services.NAMASTE: YOGA

We will also welcome Bald Mountain, TUUC's roots/Americana/bluegrass ensemble led by our own Joe Gascho, as musical complement. Facillitated by LWA co-chair Tara McIntyre, this should be an interesting and thought provoking morning at TUUC. Please join us!
